Episode 9 - BICS and Beano Max

As a result of Episode 8 being ridiculously long, here is the tail end presented as an entirely new episode. Some chat ensues about the BICS show in Birmingham, and PJ reviews his son's copy of Beano MAX, some pics of which follow.

You can listen and subscribe to the show on iTunes here.

We're on iTunes!

Just got the notification email from Apple. You can now subscribe to the show via the worlds biggest podcast directory and music store - iTunes!

Click here to go straight to Sunnyside Comics on the iTunes store. There is a subscribe button there as well.

Also worth pointing out is that we have NO reviews of the show on there - it's a lot to ask, we know, but if you enjoy the show and want us to be able to encourage more folks to listen to us and subscribe, a healthy bunch of reviews wouldn't hurt.

If you don't use iTunes, you can still subscribe to the show and have it send straight to your podcatcher of choice - just add the Sunnyside Comics RSS Feed to your list of shows.

For some reason the podcast art doesn't seem to be showing up yet. If it's still not there in a day or two we may have to fiddle with things - but don't worry. For the foreseeable future THIS is where you'll find the show.

iTunes coming soon...

It's on it's way, we promise - the podcast was submitted to the overlords at Apple last night, so it shouldn't be long until we're directing people there.

The upside of all this will be that rather than having to check the blog you'll be able to subscribe to the show that way and have it delivered to your computer and ultimately your iPod/iPhone or whatever.

Watch this space - as soon as we know we're on there you'll be the first to know!

Episode 7 - Riddle Me This...

A first for us - guests!

God help them, but fledgling Belfast comics-creators Stephen Downey and Andrew Croskery elected to come in and tell us about their work with Insomnia Publications.

Stephen (Twitter) gave us the low-down on Cancertown (preview), while Andrew (twitter) told us about his upcoming book Kronos City (preview).

Then PJ and Ron decide to abuse the guests and Scott with a stupid quiz about super-heroes. The only real loser was comedy.

Stephen's blog can be found at How not to draw comics..., where you can also purchase Cancertown. We were going to put up our standard Amazon Affiliate link, but Stephen pointed out he gets paid twice if you buy from him, and who can deny such a show of blunt avarice?

Andrew's blog is at Andrew Croskery (not as imaginatively named there Croskery!) - Kronos City is due out in 2010.

As usual you can directly download the show (or play it if you're on an iPhone) from here.

This week, if we find the time, Sunnyside Comics will have a presence on the iTunes Podcast Directory. But we'll probably forget to do it.

Oh, and we'll hopefully get round to tarting up the blog here via Posterous' new theming feature.

Episode 6 - What it's REALLY good for

This week we have a merry dander through the horrors of war comics, starting with the mid '70s British anthologies and then hopping the Atlantic to see how our North American cousins tackle the issue.

Along the way Scott learns a lot of comics history, PJ gets offensive on myriad topics and Ron says something so stupid it was relegated to after the end-music.

I think the sound quality is getting better still, but unfortunately this week PJ sounds like he's permanently trying to climb into your right ear.

LINKS!

We mention a few things worth linking to, and to save you the hassle here are the relevant sites:

Jeff Lemire's Sweet Tooth offer

Dylan Teague's Blog

Ed Kaye's Hypergeek

Mark Cardwell's Bad Librarianship

Kevin Nowlan's Blog

As ever, we'd love to hear your comments and reprimands.

Oh, and you can direct download or stream the show from here as well.

Episode 5 - A Mickey Mouse Industry

Comin' right atcha from the ghetto, it's episode 5!

In this episode we discuss a bit of news and PJ has an announcement.

Also we have the first instalment of SCOTT READS THE CLASSICS, a new feature with a cryptic title. This week Scott has checked out Batman - Year One by Frank Miller.

Then, for good measure, Scott reviews 28 Days Later, which segue-ways into PJ telling us what he thinks of The Walking Dead by Robert Kirkman & Charlie Adlard (and Tony Moore).

As ever, hang about until after the end-music. Oh, and the links above are Amazon Affiliated, so if you buy stuff via them it helps us pay for all this.

If you're on an iPhone you can direct stream the episode from here.
